Gods, Heroes & Monsters
Long before science explained the world, people told myths to make sense of it. The ancient Greeks placed twelve great gods on Mount Olympus, ruled by Zeus. The Norse told of Odin and Thor in Asgard, and of the monsters waiting at the end of the world. The Egyptians worshipped gods like Ra and Anubis, tied to the sun, death and the afterlife.
These stories still shape our language, films and books today. Below are the most famous figures from three great mythologies, each with a short description to remember them by.
